To promote transparency and ensure good governance, the Executive Committee of CFA Victoria will host an online archive of the minutes of our meetings, as well as periodic special announcements as the need arises.

Special Announcements

During the recent Society Leadership Conference at the end of September, a major initiative of the Canadian Region socieites was to begin working with CFA Institutue in crafting a cohesive and consistent national marketing message.  Up to this this time, we as a group had felt that the marketing of the CFA designation to the public had (1) lacked any real connection to the Canadian marketplace, and (2) been overshadowed in the investment industry by major pushes by competitive designations such as the CFP.

We created a national task force to work with CFA Institute and a new PR agency, Fleishmann Hilliard in crafting this message and creating a delivery plan.  The uniquely Canadian message will emphasize the educational and technical,expertise of CFA charterholders, as well as the ethical standards to which they hold themselves.  The primary target for these messages will be high-net worth private clients nationwide.

Another release that may be of interest to our members and their clients is the result of the recent nationwide CFA Charterholder investment survey.  Hundreds of Canadian Charterholders completed surveys that asked for their opinions on the economic and market outlook for the coming year.  This was released on December 2, 2005.  Click here to view the press release.
